Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z are allegedly standing behind his mother Gloria Carter, who "finally feels free" after coming out as a lesbian on new song "Smile" off his "4:44" album. According to a new report from HollywoodLife.com, the powerhouse couple couldn't be any prouder of his mom.
"Gloria has never been happier since coming out on his new album," a source tells the publication. The source claims that Beyonce and Jay-Z as well as "the entire family have stood behind her and supported her as she made this brave decision to share her personal life with the world."
"Everyone, including total strangers, has smothered Gloria with love and support since the album dropped last week," continues the insider. The 47-year-old music mogul reportedly "has never been more proud of his mom. Gloria feels like the album and coming out has truly changed her life for the better, she finally feels free!"
On the song "Smile", Jay-Z raps, "Mama had four kids, but she's a lesbian/ Had to pretend so long that she's a thespian/ Had to hide in the closet, so she medicate/ Society shame and the pain was too much to take." Later on the track, he reveals his mother has found love again, and that he supports her completely, despite what anyone else might think or say.
