'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Is Connected to 'Venom' and 'Silver Sable and Black Cat'

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" will somehow be connected to "Venom (2018)" and an untitled Silver Sable and The Black Cat project. In a new interview, Sony Pictures head Amy Pascal teases the connection between the Tom Holland-starring movies and the two spin-offs.

"Well those movies will all take place in the world that we are now creating for Peter Parker," she tells FilmStarts during the video interview, with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige sitting next to her. "They'll be adjuncts to it, it may be different locations but it will still all be in the same world, and they will be connected to each other as well."

This is quite confusing since Sony asserted several times before that it intended to create its own Marvel Universe of movies, which is separated from the existing MCU. Feige even told AlloCine just a few days prior, "For now, there is no plan for Venom in the MCU. It's a Sony project."

There was a speculation that Spider-Man would be leaving the MCU after a "Spider-Man: Homecoming" sequel, but Holland has refuted this rumor. And based on what Pascal said, Peter Parker might also appear in the Venom and Silver Sable and The Black Cat movies. She said in the interview that "there's always a chance" Spider-Man would stop by.

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" is due out July 7 in theaters across the nation. Zendaya Coleman, Robert Downey Jr., Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Donald Glover, Jon Favreau, Kenneth Choi, Martin Starr and Hannibal Buress are among the cast.
