Chris Brown spills the beans about his relationship with onetime girlfriend Rihanna in his new documentary "Chris Brown: Welcome to My Life". Released on Thursday, June 8, the documentary revealed every bits of Breezy's life, including a shocking revelation of his plan to pop the question to the "Diamond" singer before the infamous beating back in 2009.
Although he was barely twenty years old back then, Chris fell so hard for Rihanna during their short-lived romance. He was also the first one to say "I love you." Breezy revealed that he was ready to marry and settle down with his then-girlfriend despite his young age.
The "Yeah 3X" singer shared that their relationship, which started in 2008, turned into a toxic mess full of fights and jealousy after Breezy decided to come clean about his relationship with a woman he once worked with. RiRi had always been suspicious about their relationship before, but Chris told her that everything was strictly professional.
Breezy said in the documentary that the already-messy relationship between Chris and RiRi got even worse at Clive Davis' February 2009 Grammys pre-party where the massive blowout happened. According to Chris, his former hookup partner shockingly appeared at his table to say hi, making Rihanna break down in tears.
We all know how it ended. RiRi and Chris got in a big nasty fight inside Chris' Lambo where he beat and battered his then-girlfriend. The singer-songwriter later turned himself in to the Los Angeles Police Department before he was hit with assault charges.
It seemed like Chris' decision to be truthful to Rihanna didn't do any good for the two. Honesty turned their relationship from a total bliss into such a catastrophe. Should Chris keep his secret, we might have witnessed the two walking down the aisle.
