Celebrity

K-pop fans are furious at the blogger for rudely asking if any member of the group is gay and sexualizing them on social media.

AceShowbiz - Bangtan Boys a.k.a. BTS made their fans proud as they became the first Korean boyband to attend Billboard Music Awards 2017, where they won Top Social Artist Award. However, fans' happiness turned into anger after they discovered Perez Hilton's tweets. Hilton was slammed by fans for asking if any of BTS' members was "openly gay."

The founder of perezhilton.com took to Twitter to ask the controversial question on Sunday, May 21, a few hours before Billboard Music Awards 2017 started. "Are any of the @BTS_twt boys openly gay??? #BBMAs," he tweeted.

Fans were furious at Hilton for asking the question in such a rude way. They also thought that the members' sexuality was a sensitive and personal topic, especially since they came from another country with a different culture. "If you're going to be that unprofessional and ignorant, at least don't tag their account," a fan wrote. "I do have to advice you that Korean culture is very different from American so it can be take offensively if asked like that," another asked.

Hilton later replied to some of fans' tweets, insisting that he asked the question only because he was curious. "It wasn't a joke. I was seriously asking," he tweeted. When fans asked him to delete the tweet, he simply answered, "No."

Besides being blasted for asking about their sexuality, Hilton was accused of sexualizing the group. A few hours after tweeting his controversial tweet, he wrote, "RT if you're horny for @BTS_twt!!"

"He isn't becoming a fan. he's taking advantages of this whole thing, for his own gain. Isn't he like 45 with 2 kids?" a fan commented. Others called him an attention seeker for intentionally posting insensitive tweets. "We know you are desperate for attention but have some respect, you are disgusting," one of them said.

Despite the controversy, BTS still had a good time at the event. One of the members, Jin, became a hot sensation among fans as he grabbed attention as "the third [guy] from the left" who was very good looking.

The "Fire" singers also had a chance to meet Camila Cabello, who gave them sweet kisses backstage. She made a cute remark about how "there are so many of you," before asking them to take a photo together.
