It is also reported that Bassett will start working next week, joining Tom Cruise, Henry Cavill, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby and Alec Baldwin.

Bassett recently wrapped the filming on "Black Panther", in which she plays Chadwick Boseman's on-screen mother Ramonda. She also appeared in a second season episode of Netflix's "Master of None". "Mission: Impossible 6" has begun filming in Paris. McQuarrie said that "Mission: Impossible 6" would feature "very different" Ethan Hunt and would explore his character way more deeply than the previous movies did.

Besides serving as director, McQuarrie writes the script and produces the movie alongside Cruise, Don Granger, J.J. Abrams, David Ellison and Dana Goldberg.

"Mission: Impossible 6" is set to hit U.S. theaters on July 27, 2018.
