The 'Cheese in the Trap' actress is accused of 'showing off that she's popular' by starting an Instagram Live right beside her co-star who already started hers.

AceShowbiz - Lee Sung Kyung received backlash after her controversial Instagram Live last March. She was accused of disrespecting her "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" co-star, Cho Hye Jung, for starting a live broadcast while sitting next to Hye Jung, who already started her broadcast a few minutes earlier.
On March 24, the cast of "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" recorded a commentary for the drama. Sung Kyung and Hye Jung were at the same waiting room when Hye Jung started an Instagram Live to chat with her fans. A few minutes later, Sung Kyung started hers. The 26-year-old actress was heard saying, "You should turn yours off!" and "Don't look so down," causing fans to believe that she started a broadcast to prove that she was way more popular than Hye Jung.
Sung Kyung's live broadcast naturally drew more viewers as she had more followers than Hye Jung, but fans thought it was inconsiderate of her for starting a broadcast while Hye Jung's had already begun. "Lee Sung Kyung screwed up on this one. What's the point of starting her own? To prove that she's more popular? So inconsiderate," a commenter wrote. "I really hate people like Lee Sung Kyung. Why would you go copy what someone else is already doing," another added.
The "It's Okay, It's Love" star then posted a statement regarding the issue on her official site on Monday, May 15. Sung Kyung stated that she and Hye Jung didn't understand why this would be a controversy. "[Jo Hye Jung and I] are like Bok Joo and Nan Hee, we care for each other very much," she said in a statement.
Sung Kyung also clarified that her controversial remarks were actually directed to her boyfriend Nam Joo Hyuk who appeared in her live broadcast. At the end of her statement, she apologized for the damage caused by her behavior. "I will act more responsibly and thoughtfully from now on... I am someone who is still very lacking in many ways. Thank you to everyone who pointed this out to me," she concluded.
