Foley says that The Rock 'has the potential to unite this country in a very real way' and 'should run as an Independent.'

AceShowbiz - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's WWE tag team partner Mick Foley a.k.a. Mankind has shared his opinion about the possibility of Johnson being the U.S. president. In an interview with TMZ, Foley suggests that Johnson will make a great president.

"I think The Rock has the potential to unite this country in a very real way," Foley says. "I think he should run as an Independent and make it clear that he wants to work with everyone," he adds.

Both Johnson and Foley were the members of professional wrestling tag team The Rock 'n' Sock Connection, which wrestled in the World Wrestling Federation between 1999 and 2000 and briefly in 2004. The two held the WWF Tag Team Championship three times as a team.

Recently, Johnson suggested that he was considering the prospect of a presidential run. He started thinking about the plan after reading an article in Washington Post, which said that he could make a viable candidate.

"A year ago it started coming up more and more," he said. "There was a real sense of earnestness, which made me go home and think, 'Let me really rethink my answer and make sure I am giving an answer that is truthful and also respectful.' "

However, Johnson didn't declare whether he was a Democrat or a Republican. "[If I didn't agree with someone] on something, I wouldn't shut them out. I would actually include them," he said. "The first thing we'd do is we'd come and sit down and we'd talk about it. I [would] take responsibility for everyone. Especially when you disagree with me. If there's a large number of people disagreeing, there might be something I'm not seeing, so let me see it. Let me understand it," he added.
