A new report suggests that the seventh season of the HGTV series will be cut down to five episodes, following the nasty divorce of the hosts, Tarek El Moussa and Christina El Moussa.

"Flip or Flop" season 7 episode count reportedly will be severely cut down. According to In Touch, the upcoming season, which is the first season to be filmed after Tarek El Moussa and his estranged ex-wife Cristina El Moussa split up, will reportedly only consist of five episodes.
"Christina and Tarek wanted to see how things went," a production source told the publication. The source added, "They agreed to consider signing on for five more at a later time, but that never happened. The show is done."
It was previously reported that season 7 could be the final season of the house flipping series as HGTV was not moving forward with an eighth season. When asked about the current status of the eighth installment of the series, a rep for HGTV responded, " 'Flip or Flop' still is in active production on Season 7 of the series. No additional new info to share beyond that statement."
The 5-episode seventh season will air on the network later this year, following the previous sixth season which ran for 17 episodes before wrapping up last Thursday, March 30. Although the future of "Flip or Flop" beyond season 7 remains to be seen, HGTV has ordered five spin-offs of the series with each show being set in a different city. Rumor has it that Christina is currently shopping around her own show focused on interior design.
