John Legend and Chrissy Teigen's Moroccan vacation didn't end up well. The Grammy-winning singer's travel bag, which reportedly contained about $26,000 in valuables, was allegedly stolen by a cab driver after he landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York on Thursday, March 23.
The New York Daily News first reported that Legend was approached by the cab driver, who chatted with him for a few minutes before swiping his bag and running off with it. TMZ followed up the report, claiming that a Delta greeter had left the singer's bag unattended before it was swiped. The $5,000 black Louis Vuitton bag reportedly contained $25,000 Cartier Panther cuff links with clear and green stones, a $500 pair of sunglasses and $500 worth of clothing.
However, Legend called the story false and denied that a robbery took place. "This story is untrue," so he wrote on Twitter. "We use a trusted car service and they did not rob me. Our Delta greeter made a mistake and left a bag on the cart." He added, "The bag was taken because it was left unattended. The airport police caught the person who took it (on video) and retrieved my bag."

A source said that Legend noticed the bag was missing once he arrived at his hotel and called Delta Airlines and Port Authority police. PA detectives reviewed surveillance video from Terminal 4 and saw Agustin Hilario, who picked up Legend's bag and walked away. Hilario, who reportedly claimed he was returning the bag to the airport's lost-and-found, was charged with grand larceny, attempted grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
Legend had just returned from his Moroccan trip with his model wife Teigen and their 11-month-old daughter Luna. The 31-year-old beauty posted on Instagram some photos and videos from their trip to the exotic northwestern African city over the weekend. In one photo, Teigen dressed in a maize gown and posed with Legend, who donned a tan jacket and black pants, inside a traditional Moroccan-style building.
