It seems like we will see more Lena Luthor as the actress playing the character is getting a boost to series regular in the next installment of the series.

"Supergirl" decides to keep vixen Lena Luthor in its plot for the next installment of the series. Deadline reports that Katie McGrath, the actress who portrays Lena, has been promoted to a full-fledged series regular for "Supergirl" season 3. The announcement suggests that season 3 will have a lot more of Lena, though whether it means a bad or good thing remains to be seen.
Lena first appeared in episode 4 of the sophomore season of "Supergirl" and has appeared in seven episodes so far. The younger sister of Lex Luthor came to the National City to get away from the shadow of her brother. She has taken over Luthor Corp since Lex was sent to prison.
Meanwhile, her mother Lilian Luthor (Brenda Strong) is the head of Cadmus and is a hardcore anti-alien. Her family background somewhat makes her true intentions of befriending Kara (Melissa Benoist) remains vague throughout season 2.
In a recent interview with TVLine, McGrath spoke of her role, "She's honest, she's true to Kara, she's true to her friends." She continued, "She keeps trying, in the face of all the things that people keep throwing at her. She's defying them!"
Besides "Supergirl", McGrath appeared on "Frontier", "Dracula" and "Merlin". Her big-screen credits include "Jurassic Park" and upcoming Charlie Hunnam-starring flick "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword".
"Supergirl" season 2 airs Mondays at 8 P.M. on The CW.
