Disney's "Zootopia" has been announced as winner of Best Animated Feature at the 89th annual Academy Awards. It beat formidable competitors like another Disney animated flick "Moana" as well as "Kubo and the Two Strings", "My Life as a Zucchini" and "The Red Turtle".

In Best Animated Short category, it was revealed that "Piper" won the trophy. The Pixar-produced animated short took home the gong after managing to defeat the likes of "Blind Vaysha", "Borrowed Time", "Pear Cider and Cigarettes" and "Pearl".

Also at the Sunday night event, "La La Land" was announced as winner of Best Production Design. The award was given to the production team which consisted of David Wasco and Sandy Reynolds. Meanwhile, "The Jungle Book" took home the prize for Best Visual Effects, with Robert Legato, Adam Valdez, Andrew R.Jones and Dan Lemmon sharing the gong.

The show then revealed Mel Gibson's directorial comeback "Hacksaw Ridge" nabbed the Best Film Editing. Previously, the Andrew Garfield-starring flick took home the Best Sound Mixing Award.

Meanwhile in Best Foreign Language Film category, it was announced that "The Salesman" won the trophy.
