'Supergirl' Taps Lynda Carter to Return as President Olivia Marsdin
TV

Kevin Smith, the director of one of the upcoming episodes, indirectly confirms the return of the actress, who will reprise her role as the first lady of TV superheroes.

AceShowbiz - Lynda Carter will be back on "Supergirl". Kevin Smith, one of the series' directors, posted on Instagram some set photos, one which featured the director posing next to the actress.

Carter, who plays President Olivia Marsdin on the series, can be seen sticking her tongue out while standing next to the director. "You're a wonder, Wonder Woman! Had a [DC Comics] dream day working with the First Lady of TV Superheroes, [Lynda Carter] on ['Supergirl']! She's still fighting for our rights, but what you can't see is that I'M the one wearing the satin tights," Smith captioned the photo.

Marsdin is an unnamed alien who kept her true nature hidden for years and had a great political career, until she became the president of the United States on Earth-38. Marsdin last appeared in the third episode of season two titled "Welcome to Earth", which was a tribute episode to Carter's legendary performance as Diana Prince on the '70s series "Wonder Woman".

Another image shows Smith standing next to a technology made for his episode. "Daxamite technology! Spending Friday night in space shooting ['Supergirl']! Dax tech created by the amazing [Tyler Harron]. That is a clear glass TV by Planar. Looks high tech but you can watch movies on it like a regular TV. Not a commercial, Im just impressed!" Smith wrote.

The director also shared a photo of "Supergirl" cast members including Melissa Benoist, Chris Wood, Jeremy Jordan and Mehcad Brooks, who were seemingly having fun during their break of filming. "Game Night in [National City]! This is the ['Supergirl'] cast's pitch for a new [Settlers of Catan] box cover: insane enthusiasm from [Melissa Benoist], [Christopher Wood] and [Jeremy Jordan] and electric indifference from [Mehcad Brooks]! I'm having a blast 'directing' ['Supergirl']. These kids and the amazing crew make the long days fly by... Or at least able to leap tall days in a single bound!" Smith captioned the image.

"Supergirl" airs Mondays at 8 P.M. on The CW.
