The 39-year-old quarterback is wondering why people keep making a big issue about his personal relationship with the newly sworn-in president.

AceShowbiz - Tom Brady is seemingly tired of people making a big deal about his friendship with Donald Trump. Trump said at a pre-inaugural dinner that Brady called the newly sworn-in president to offer his congratulations. When asked to confirm the said phone call with Trump, the 39-year-old quarterback responded by asking why people keep making a big issue about it.

Brady was talking about his team, New England Patriots that will be playing in Super Bowl LI in Houston on February 5, in an interview on WEEI's "Kirk & Callahan" radio show when he addressed his personal relationship with Trump. "I have called him, yes, in the past. Sometimes he calls me, sometimes I call," he revealed.

"But again, that's been someone I've known. I always try to keep it in context because for 16 years you know someone before maybe he was in the position that he was in," Brady went on explaining in the Monday, January 23 interview. He added, "Why does everybody make such a big deal? I don't understand it."

Trump said at a campaign donors dinner in Washington, D.C. that Brady recently called him. The 70-year-old also revealed last year that the athlete, who was once spotted having a Make America Great Again hat in his locker, voted for him in the election. Brady's wife, Gisele Bundchen, publicly denied claims the family supported Trump, though.
