The host has defended Dick Clark Productions following Mimi's disastrous performance by saying that 'this is a team that wants to do everything they can to accommodate any artist.'

AceShowbiz - Ryan Seacrest has finally spoken up about Mariah Carey's disastrous performance at "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2017". The 42-year-old host addressed the issue during "On Air With Ryan Seacrest" on Thursday, January 5.

"It is difficult to perform in Times Square. I mean, she had done it before because she was the first musical guest that we had had live when I started doing the show a decade ago," Seacrest said. "So she had seen it; she knows what Times Square is about. It's complicated."

"I don't know what you realize on TV or you see, but imagine: Every single TV outlet in the world is there. There's all kinds of technical things going on," the host continued. "It's live television, and things happen on live TV - if something goes wrong, it's unfortunate for anybody."

"I know this team of producers. I've known these guys for years. I knew Dick Clark very, very well. This is a team that wants to do everything they can to accommodate any artist. They and we are in the business of wanting people to look good!" he revealed.

"Believe me, tricky things, tough things that can happen, happen on live television," Seacrest added. "It's just unfortunate that it comes to all of this, because it's a night of celebration and a night of fun."

Mimi lip synced her songs during the live show at the Times Square on that terrible night, but she couldn't find her place in the songs. She has since been on a war with Dick Clark Productions. She accused them of sabotaging her performance for ratings, while the company blamed her for not doing a check sound before she took the stage.
