"Deadpool 2" may start its production soon with David Leitch serving as a new director. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the "John Wick" co-helmer has finally sealed the deal with 20th Century Fox to sit behind the lens for the much-awaited sequel to 2015's "Deadpool" after weeks of negotiations.

David has been selected to replace Tim Miller, who quit the project back in October due to creative differences with actor/co-producer Ryan Reynolds. He will direct the sequel from a screenplay written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who were the scribes of the first movie. As of now, "Deadpool 2" has yet to set a release date.

David recently wrapped filming on "The Coldest City", a cold war thriller starring Charlize Theron. He will likely have a busy schedule in a few years ahead. Aside from "Deadpool 2", he, along with his "John Wick" co-helmer Chad Stahelski, has been tapped to direct several big-screen adaptations, including "Cowboy Ninja Viking" starring Chris Pratt as well as Valiant's "Bloodshot".

He is also well known as stunt actor and stunt coordinator. He had roles in several movies like "Tron: Legacy" and "The Matrix Revolutions".
