Kendall Jenner surprised her fans when she suddenly shut down her Instagram account on Sunday, November 13. It was Kim Kardashian who reportedly told Kendall to quit Instagram following online abuse over her ballet-themed shoot for Vogue Spain.

"Kendall [Jenner] talked to Kim [Kardashian] about her break from social media and got advice from her big sister on her Instagram account," an insider tells HollywoodLife.com, "Kim told Kendall to pull the plug on the haters."

The insider continues, "Kendall saw how Kim's break from social helped her alleviate stress and anxiety in her life. Kim has been able to decompress from a lot of the negative energy and bullies online, which has always been an issue for Kendall."

Kim has been taking a break from social media following her Paris robbery meltdown in early October.

"As much as Kendall tries to avoid the negative comments online, it still affects her, which is why she decided the break was a good idea," reveals the insider, "Kendall figured if it was okay for Kim and Justin Bieber to do it, than she could give it a try to."

Kendall came under fire when she took part in a Vogue Spain's ballet-themed photoshoot back in September. Some real ballerinas found it annoying and offensive because Kendall was nothing like a trained ballet dancer.

A Twitter user wrote, "The Kendall ballet vogue shoot has me heated. They should of used a real dancer. Instead it's her lookin like her ankles might break any sec." Another user posted, "Ballet is such high art and coming from someone who's spent years in the studio, it's almost offensive to see Kendall act 'cute' in it."

Kendall later took to her website to address the backlash. "It's so funny that people are getting pregnant and married - or having crazy drama - but my drama is ballerinas being upset at me!" she wrote. "With my Vogue Spain shoot, I didn't even know I was going to be a ballerina until I went into hair and makeup. I never said I knew ballet and I didn't practice beforehand. I just show up to do my job! It confuses me how people can get that upset when there are so many important things going on in the world. But, it's obviously not going to stop me from working hard and being me."
