Blake Shelton is set to headline the first ever concert to be held at Penn State University's Beaver Stadium in 2017. Since the stadium opened in 1960, it has been expanded to 107,000 seats but it has never hosted a non-Penn State event.

The concert is scheduled to take place on July 8 and is billed as the "Happy Valley Jam". Presented by Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics and Basics Entertainment, "Happy Valley Jam" also features Chris Young, Big & Rich, David Ray and Adley Stump.

Tickets go on sale on November 16.

Penn State University first announced plans for a concert at the Beaver Stadium earlier this year. Back in 2015, University Officials stated that they're seeking options to renovate or replace the stadium in the next 10 years. The school wants to expand the number of events held at the stadium, including major concerts and a long-discussed potential hosting of the NHL Winter Classic.
