Kelsey Grammer to Guest Star on 'Modern Family' as Cam's Ex-Boyfriend

The 'Frasier' alum will portray Keifth, a circus ringmaster who is Cam's (Eric Stonestreet) ex-boyfriend, in an upcoming episode of the NBC sitcom.

AceShowbiz - "Modern Family" has just scored a big name as a guest star. Five-time Emmy-winning actor Kelsey Grammer is set to appear in an upcoming episode of the current eighth season of the NBC series as Cam's (Eric Stonestreet) ex-boyfriend.

Grammer will play Keifth, who is a circus ringmaster, according to EW. The episode is being filmed this week and is scheduled to air in early January. The "Cheers" and "Frasier" alum joins Nathan Fillion and Martin Short who have also been tapped to guest star on "Modern Family" season 8.

Grammer has worked with several people behind "Modern Family", including series co-creator Christopher Lloyd who was an executive producer on "Frasier" and other co-creator Steven Levitan who created Grammer's short-lived FOX sitcom "Back to You".

The 61-year-old acting vet stars opposite Matthew Bomer in Amazon's drama pilot "The Last Tycoon", which has been picked up to series.

"Modern Family" airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on ABC.
