Kim Kardashian Said She Could 'Handle' Social Media Days Before She Got Robbed

The reality TV star said social media had been 'more beneficial than the negative things' during a '60 Minutes' interview conducted days before the Paris incident.

AceShowbiz - Kim Kardashian's activity on social media might be one of the reasons she became a target in the traumatic Paris robbery. Ironically, the reality TV star had an interview with "60 Minutes" just days before the incident and proudly said that she could "handle" the lack of privacy caused by displaying her life on platforms like Instagram and Snapchat.

Speaking to Bill Whitaker in the chat that aired in the show's Sunday, October 23 episode, Kardashian admitted that letting so many people see part of her life wasn't always a good thing. "There are pitfalls - lack of privacy, loss of privacy - and that might not be for everyone," she shared.

"That's a pitfall?" Whitaker asked, to which Kardashian replied, "Yeah. For me, I can handle it." The mother of two went saying that she wouldn't have been one of the most famous people in the world without social media, which she said she owed her career to.

Following discussion about how she made money just by sharing her life with millions of people out there, she added, "I do believe that the pros in my situation and my lifestyle have been more beneficial than the negative things."

Three weeks after the robbery, during which she lost the $4 million ring she used to show off on Snapchat and at many events, Kardashian hasn't returned to social media and still keeps herself out of the public eye. Her closest family members and friends have all said that the 36-year-old is still shaken after five masked men tied her up and gagged her in the bathroom of her Paris apartment.

"Well, I think it's just a wake-up call to make a lot of life adjustments. This is a really serious matter for Kim. I think that's really personal as to when that emotional terror you could move on from that," her sister Khloe Kardashian recently said during a visit to "The Ellen DeGeneres Show". "I think for us it's all a wake-up call for all of us, but definitely just to make sure our sister's OK."
