Selena Gomez's mother, Mandy Teefey, is not fighting for a conservatorship despite report first published by InTouch. The publication suggested that her mother was worried about her condition and was ready to take "extreme measures" if her daughter's attempt to be rehabbed would end badly.
The tabloid reported that Mandy was "hoping for the best" for the 24-year-old singer who's in a treatment center in Tennessee, but she was already "preparing for the worst." "Her mom came to visit her and took her out of the facility to talk," a so-called "family insider" told the tabloid. "She's still telling everyone she wants to go home, and then gets mad because she feels like they aren't listening."
The webloid went on to say that Mandy "would be named custodian of Selena and take control of her daughter's finances and major decisions." The alleged insider added, "Mandy's been reaching out to find out what it would take to get a conservatorship for Selena. She believes that a mental breakdown is possible if Selena doesn't take this rehab stint seriously."
However, the conservatorship story published by InTouch was "not true." A source close to Selena confirmed to Gossip Cop that the former Disney star's mother was not seeking a conservatorship.
