Forest Whitaker and More Join Chadwick Boseman in 'Black Panther'

Whitaker, Daniel Kaluuya and Florence Kasumba will share screen with Boseman, who is tapped to play T'Challa a.k.a. Black Panther, in the upcoming movie.

AceShowbiz - Marvel adds three more actors to the cast ensemble of "Black Panther". Variety has reported that Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker, Daniel Kaluuya and Florence Kasumba will share screen with Chadwick Boseman, who is tapped to play T'Challa a.k.a. Black Panther, in the upcoming superhero flick.

Whitaker will star as Zuri, a warrior and statesman from the fictional African nation of Wakanda who was an ally of the title character's late father T'Caka. Meanwhile, Kaluuya is set to play T'Challa's confidant named W'Kabi. As for Kasumba, she will reprise her "Captain America: Civil War" role as Ayo, a member of the Dora Milaje.

Danai Gurira is on board to play Okoye, the leader of the Dola Milaje, while Lupita Nyong'o will portray Nakia, another member of the all-female secret service. Additionally, the titular superhero will be antagonized by Michael B. Jordan and Winston Duke who have been tapped as the villains named Erik Killmonger and M'Baku a.k.a. Man-Ape respectively.

Director Ryan Coogler is attached to sit behind the lens for the movie which is expected to begin production in Atlanta, Georgia early next year. He also co-writes the screenplay with "American Crime Story" scribe Joe Robert Cole. The action flick is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on February 16, 2018.

"Black Panther" follows T'Challa, the new ruler of the advanced kingdom of Wakanda who must defend his land from being torn apart by enemies from outside and inside the country.
