AceShowbiz - Marvel Comics is launching a limited series titled Black Panther & Namor: Doomed as a direct spin-off from the ongoing Avengers: Armageddon storyline. The series will follow the iconic heroes as they journey to Hell to confront Doctor Doom following his death in the One World Under Doom event.
Written by Ethan S. Parker and Griffin Sheridan with artwork by Stefano Nesi, the five-issue series is scheduled to hit comic stores on September 2, 2026. The story picks up after Black Panther and Namor assist in the battle against Red Hulk in Armageddon #1, then follows their kingdoms—Wakanda and Atlantis—under siege by demonic forces. This prompts the duo to investigate the underworld, where they encounter the wandering soul of Doctor Doom. The cover art for the series is crafted by Dave Johnson.
Black Panther is a defining Marvel character known for his leadership of Wakanda and his groundbreaking solo film released in 2018. The limited series taps into the long-standing rivalry and alliance between Black Panther and Namor, exploring complex dynamics alongside the formidable presence of Doctor Doom. Both Parker and Sheridan have expressed enthusiasm for working with such legendary characters, emphasizing the high stakes and rich storytelling potential.
This new series expands the Marvel Universe by deepening the supernatural and heroic conflicts introduced in Avengers: Armageddon while giving fans a fresh look at two of Marvel’s most compelling rulers facing a threat from beyond the grave. The release of Black Panther & Namor: Doomed will add a significant chapter to the mythos of these characters ahead of Namor’s upcoming film appearance in Avengers: Doomsday later in 2026.
