Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow have set a release date for "Ocean's Eight". The female-driven reboot of George Clooney and Brad Pitt-led "Ocean's Eleven" will be unleashed in U.S. theaters on June 8, 2018. The action movie is currently set to open against Paramount Pictures' "Transformers 6".

The upcoming action movie will have a group of eight protagonists instead of the traditional eleven. Sandra Bullock will lead the cast which includes Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina. Sarah Paulson was recently eyed to complete the cast ensemble.

Gary Ross ("The Hunger Games") will direct the all-female heist from a script he co-writes with Olivia Milch. "Ocean's Eleven" director Steven Soderbergh serves as a producer. Susan Ekins is executive producing, with Greg Silverman and Jesse Ehrman overseeing for Warner Bros.

The production is expected to begin this month in New York. As of now, details regarding the storyline have yet to be revealed.
