'You cannot display your wealth and then be surprised that some people want to share it with you,' the Chanel creative director says while commenting on the heist involving the E! star.

AceShowbiz - Karl Lagerfeld believes that Kim Kardashian is partly to blame for the scary robbery that happened to her a few days ago. The Chanel creative director, who's also the reality TV star's friend, showed no sympathy for her when he was commenting on the incident in a chat with Reuters.

The 83-year-old fashion mogul scolded Kim for frequently flaunting her wealth on social media and letting herself bodyguard-less at the time of the robbery. "It's a very bad thing for Paris, but I don't understand why she was in a hotel with no security and things like this," he said.

"If you're that famous and you put all your jewelry on the net, you go to hotels where nobody can come near to the room," he continued. "You cannot display your wealth and then be surprised that some people want to share it with you."

Despite his harsh comments, Karl and Kim will likely remain friends. After news of the heist broke, he was pictured holding up a sign that read, "Dear Kim. We are all with you."

Kim was left shaken and traumatized by the Paris heist, in which she lost $10 million in jewelry. Those items stolen by the burglars included the $4 million diamond ring she recently received from husband Kanye West.

According to a new PEOPLE report, Kim regretted showing off the massive ring so much on social media. "Kim's in shock and blaming herself. She's tearing herself up that she Snapchatted the ring so much and wore it all the time," a source close to her told the site. "This incident is making her question everything. How she dresses, what she does."

Kim reportedly also refused to have the ring replaced. "Kanye wants to buy her the ring again but she just says she doesn't want to think about it," the source added. "He says he wants everything to go back to normal and for the incident to not affect their lives."
