Eddie Murphy to Be Honored With Career Achievement Award at Hollywood Film Awards

The 55-year-old 'SNL' alum will be honored at the 20th Hollywood Film Awards which will take place on November 6 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.

AceShowbiz - Eddie Murphy will be honored at the annual Hollywood Film Awards. The 55-year-old "Saturday Night Live" alum will receive the 20th Career Achievement Award at the ceremony which will take place on November 6.

Actor and comedian James Corden ("The Late Late Show With James Corden") will host this year's Hollywood Film Awards. The event which is produced by Dick Clark Productions is set to be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.

"Eddie Murphy has had a spectacular career as a comedian, actor, writer, producer and director, spanning more than 35 years," said the production company CEO, Allen Shapiro. "We look forward to honoring his extraordinary body of work."

Previous honorees of the Hollywood Career Achievement Award include Harrison Ford, Richard Gere, Glenn Close, Dustin Hoffman, Michael Keaton and the late Robin Williams.

Murphy, who was honored with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2015, has appeared in "Coming to America", "Beverly Hills Cop" as well as lent his voice to Donkey in the "Shrek" animated movie series. He was nominated for an Oscar for his role in "Dreamgirls", for which he earned a Golden Globe. He was last seen in "Mr. Church" and is expected to reprise his role as Axel Foley in "Beverly Hills Cop IV".
