Not everyone has sympathy for Kim Kardashian following the robbery in Paris. After a number of social media users chose to make fun of the scary incident, during which Kim lost about $11 million worth of jewelry, some others now accuse the reality TV star of planning the heist.

Several Twitter users said that the entire story was "an insurance scam" and just publicity stunt. "An insurance payoff the solution to her Kanye's cash-flow issues?" one person tweeted. "Kim Kardashian doesn't need to fake a robbery for attention. She's Kim Kardashian," another added.

Media Take Out even presented some evidence to support fans' allegations that the robbery was staged. The publication noted that the jewelry Kim lost was placed in a box and not in a locked safe. "Who leaves $11M in jewelry out in the open?" it said.

MTO also pointed out that the mother of two was allowed to return to the U.S. just hours after the robbery, while cops would normally ask a victim of a major crime to stay "so that they can talk to her about leads."

Other things the outlet found odd included the fact that her bodyguard was nowhere to be seen at the time of the robbery and the fact that none of the thieves did anything inappropriate to Kim after they tied her up.

The robbery took place in Kim's apartment in Paris. Five masked men broke into the property on early Monday morning, October 3 and locked up the 35-year-old star in the bathroom. She wasn't with her bodyguard Pascal Duvier at the time. He was guarding her sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner as they were partying that night.
