After the 'Veep' actress revealed her dad's passing during the 2016 Emmy Awards, the veteran actor received some tweets from concerned fans who thought he's related to her.

AceShowbiz - Richard Dreyfuss is alive and tweeting. After Julia Louis-Dreyfus tearfully revealed during the 2016 Emmy Awards that her dad recently passed away, the actor clarified on Twitter that he's not dead and he's not even the actress' father.

In case you missed it, Louis-Dreyfuss accepted the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series Award for her hit HBO show "Veep" at the event on Sunday night, September 18. During her speech, she said she'd dedicate the Emmy to her father who died just two days ago on Friday.

"Lastly, I'd like to dedicate this to my father William Louis-Dreyfus who passed away on Friday," she emotionally told the crowd. "I'm so glad that he liked 'Veep' because his opinion was the one that really mattered. Thank you."

After receiving so many tweets from those who thought he's related to Louis-Dreyfus because of their similar last names, Richard Dreyfuss assured everyone that he's perfectly fine. "I'm actually not Julia Louis-Dreyfus' father. But I really appreciate all the concerned tweets," he tweeted.
