"The Departed" is being turned into a TV series. Amazon has teamed up with Warner Brother TV to develop a small-screen adaptation based on the 2006 critically-acclaimed gangster movie which was directed by Martin Scorsese.

Like the movie, the TV version set in a present-day Chicago is inspired by 2002's Hong Kong crime thriller "Infernal Affairs". "Detroit 1-8-7" creator Jason Richman is hired to write the script. It revolves around about a cop who goes undercover in a Latino gang. In the meantime, the gang plants one of their own members in the police department.
