NBC has unleashed a promo for "Hairspray Live!" that gives a first look at most of its main cast in costume. It introduces newcomer Maddie Baillios as wannabe dancer Tracy Turnblad and Harvey Fierstein as her mother Edna. PEOPLE earlier debuted a photo of the daughter-mother duo.

There's also a glimpse of Jennifer Hudson as celebrity disk jockey Motormouth Maybelle, Ariana Grande as Tracy's overprotected friend Penny Pingleton, Kristin Chenoweth as villainous producer Velma Von Tussle, Martin Short as joke-shop owner Wilbur Turnblad, Derek Hough as afternoon TV host Corny Collins, Dove Cameron as dancer-slash-mean girl Amber Von Tussle, and Garrett Clayton as heartthrob Link Larkin.

Also set to star in the upcoming live musical are Rosie O'Donnell, Sean Hayes and Andrea Martin as a gym teacher, Mr. Pinky (owner of the dress shop) and Prudy Pingleton respectively. Directed by Kenny Leon and Alex Rudzinski, the upcoming telecast based on the 2002 Broadway musical of the same name is executive produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.

It will be filmed in Los Angeles and air Wednesday, December 7 at 8 P.M. ET. At the TCA summer press tour, it was revealed that the show would not feature any new songs.
