The music video for Zayn Malik and Snakehips' collaboration "Cruel" has been released. The electro-inspired video sees the "Pillowtalk" hitmaker wandering through a dimly-lit nightclub while crooning the song.

Zayn appears on the screen of every flickering television while a group of dancers move to the song's slinky beat. As the video moves into different rooms, the former One Direction member is seen distracted by a pretty brunette.

"I can't concentrate/ I just see your eyes, back where we left off/ Why'd you take your dress off?" Zayn sings, "I've been by myself remembering you. Your body hurts me, looping round like CCTV."

In addition to his collaboration with Snakehips, Zayn is teaming up with M.I.A. for a new track "Freedun" off her final album "A.I.M.". "That's the song we mastered yesterday," she tells EW on the phone from India, "We just basically did it while I was here, because I've been here for a week-and-a-half. We've just been going back and forth on, you know, WhatsApp."

M.I.A. got close to Zayn when she considered writing songs for his debut solo album, "Mind of Mine". "We have the same publishers and they wanted me to demo some songs for Zayn," she shares, "Before I started writing properly my own stuff [for A.I.M.], I was thinking maybe I'll write for other people instead. I really wanted to write a song for Zayn. We had a couple people in common. And that's how it came about. I didn't really approach him for my own record until later on. First, I thought I wanted to try writing a song for him."
