Despite the name he chose for himself, Tyga isn't a good tiger owner. The rapper once owned a pet tiger which he sent to a non-profit animal rescue facility in California two years ago after being told that keeping the animal in his house was illegal. Now, he's being slammed because he doesn't seem to care about the big cat anymore.

Lions, Tigers & Bears, the animal shelter, told TMZ that the 500-pound tiger now named Maverick needs around $10,000 a year just for his food. That amount excludes vet costs, flea control and general maintenance. To cover the costs, they could only rely on public donations.

Meanwhile, Tyga hasn't done a lot for the tiger. While he could afford a Ferrari and some other lavish presents for his girlfriend Kylie Jenner, the 26-year-old has never financially helped the shelter. He hasn't even said thanks to them.

As pointed out by TMZ, T-Raww faced criminal charges in 2014 after multiple times showing off the exotic animal on Instagram. In the end, he dodged the charge and surrendered the feline to animal control, who then moved it to Lions, Tigers & Bears.
