Joe Biden is heading to "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit". The Veep is set to guest star in an upcoming episode of the long-running police procedural series. He will appear as himself in a scene where he praises Mariska Hargitay's Lieutenant Olivia Benson for her work to end the rape kit backlog, specifically in the city of Detroit.
Biden arrived on the set in New York on Friday, July 29. Star Ice-T shared a photo of the Veep standing at podium with Hargitay. "Joe is in the Building.... SVU," the actor/rapper wrote along with the image. Kelli Giddish, Ice-T and Peter Scanavino are reportedly also in the scene.

It's unclear when the episode will air. Biden and Hargitay previously teamed up at the United State of Women Summit at the White House to address the national backlog of untested rape kits and rape culture. Earlier this year, she also presented the Veep with the Finnegan Award at her Joyful Heart Foundation gala.
