Nick Jonas is in talks to star in Sony's "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle". According to Deadline, the 24-year-old singer and actor will star alongside Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Kevin Hart and Jack Black in the remake of 1995's "Jumanji", which starred Robin Williams in the lead role.

Jake Kasdan, who directed "Bad Teacher", is set to helm the remake from a script written by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner. Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers pen the original draft based on Chris Van Allsburg's Caldecott Medal-winning adventure book.

Matt Tolmach and William Teitler produce the upcoming movie reboot. Kasdan also executive produces along with Van Allsburg, Johnson, David Householter, Ted Field, Mike Weber and Dany Garcia. Principal photography is expected to begin next month in Honolulu for a July 28, 2017 U.S. release.

Anthony Bagarozzi ("The Nice Guys") and Charles Mondry ("Death Note") have written the script based on the Steven Moffat-scripted six-episode miniseries. Ellen DeGeneres and Jeff Kleeman will produce the film through their A Very Good Production banner.

Evans is best known for his role as Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America in the MCU films, including "The Avengers" and "Captain America: Civil War". He can next be seen in Marc Webb's "Gifted" alongside Jenny Slate, which is scheduled to be released on April 12, 2017.
