Before "Prison Break" returns next year, the cast including Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Sarah Wayne Callies and Robert Knepper greeted fans at San Diego Comic-Con on Sunday, July 24. Joined by producer Vaun Wilmott, they attended FOX's Action Showcase panel which they shared with "24: Legacy" cast and producers.

They opened the panel with a new trailer from the nine-episode revival. It shows Lincoln Burrows (Purcell) learning that Michael (Miller) is still alive. After telling Sara (Callies) about the news, he heads to Middle East to confirm it. Lincoln soon arranges a plan to get his brother out of prison, but everything doesn't go as planned.

A scene of the revival was also shared, hinting at what went wrong during their previous attempt to free Michael. He's also seen befriending a fellow inmate, who offers some help for their escape plan.

Miller pointed out that since the beginning, their idea was to have a fresh take that's still "true to the show's DNA." Executive producer Vaun Wilmott said, "I think it resonates because of family and the bond between the brothers. The simple idea that you would do anything to save or help your loved ones is universal." Of what's different from the previous seasons, Wilmott said, "I think you'll immediately get the sense that it's a new world."

Miller revealed, "Michael has a fresh set of tattoos and they are central to the plot, but they don't work the same way they did the first time around."

Purcell then took an opportunity to thank his co-stars, FOX, the series' producers and girlfriend AnnaLynne McCord for giving him the time and space to heal after an on-set injury. Miller commented on Purcell's injury, "It was upsetting, of course. The man is my brother in every way but blood, and it's a testament to his fortitude and his professionalism that he was back at work in an unbelievably short amount of time. We would not have been able to finish these nine episodes had he not rallied."
