Watch: Jon Stewart Doesn't Know About Roger Ailes' Resignation, Slams Donald Trump's Supporters
TV

Stewart has not heard about Ailes' resignation as Fox News chief and chose to take down Fox News host Sean Hannity who has gone overboard in criticizing President Obama to support Donald Trump.

AceShowbiz - Jon Stewart couldn't keep quiet as Donald Trump rose to be the Republican presidential nominee. So he's back on TV, in this case via Stephen Colbert's "Late Show", to take down Trump and his supporters, whom he said have bent over backward to support the real-estate tycoon.

Colbert opened his monologue on Thursday, July 21 talking about Roger Ailes' resignation as Fox News chief. The news was too big for him to tackle alone, so he brought his friend Stewart to share his desk that night. Apparently Stewart didn't catch up with a lot of today's events, so he hasn't heard about the sexual abuse allegations against Ailes.

Instead, the former "Daily Show" host decided to use the chance to slam Fox News host Sean Hannity and his hypocrisy in supporting Trump. Calling Hannity "Lumpy," he showed a clip of Hannity criticizing President Obama's use of teleprompters. In another clip, Hannity praised Trump's use of teleprompters. Stewart commented, "You hate teleprompters! You're saying now, 'Teleprompters are for stupid people, and I thought Trump handled it pretty good.' "

Taking aim at TV personalities and commentators who have said they wanted their country back, Stewart said, "You just want that person to give you your country back because you feel you're this country's rightful owners."

He argued, "There's only one problem with that: this country isn't yours. You don't own it. It never was. There is no real America. ... You don't own patriotism, you don't own Christianity. You sure as hell don't own respect for the bravery and sacrifice of military, police and firefighters. ... I see you and I see your bulls**t."
