Selena Gomez is still on team Taylor Swift following the drama over Kanye West's "Famous" lyrics. After the rapper's wife Kim Kardashian proved her husband's innocence by leaking his and the 26-year-old singer's phone conversation, the former Disney darling took to Twitter on Sunday, July 17 to seemingly defend her BFF.

"There are more important things to talk about... Why can't people use their voice for something that f**king matters?" she tweeted. "Truth is last thing we need right now is hate, in any form. This industry is so disappointing yet the most influential smh."

Swift had several times denied she approved the controversial lyrics about her on West's "Famous" before Kardashian posted earlier on Sunday a string of Snapchat clips showing her husband and the former country diva discussing the track over the phone.

In the clips, taken before the song was debuted earlier this year, West told her he called and asked for her approval because he considered her his friend and he didn't want to "do rap that makes people feel bad." At the time, Swift replied, "I really appreciate you telling me about it, that's really nice!"

The "Shake It Off" hitmaker has responded to the Snapchat videos, insisting in a statement posted on Instagram that she never approved the song and that West never really let her hear it before it's released. "Being falsely painted as a liar when I was never given the full story or played any part of the song is character assassination," she wrote. "I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative, one that I have never asked to be a part of, since 2009."
