Victoria Beckham a.k.a. Victoria Adams is under fire over a photo of her kissing her daughter Harper on the lips. The controversial picture was posted by the former Spice Girls member on Sunday, July 10 in honor of Harper's fifth birthday.

One commenter wrote, "Eww sorry I'm old fashioned it looks like they making out." A second user posted, "It's nice but you're not supposed to kiss you're children on the lips. I'm not trying to be rude but it's true." Another one added, "That's one passionate kiss right there...Hope she gets so passionate with @davidbeckham."

BBC News later asked a social etiquette expert Liz Brewer to comment on the kissing photo. "Normally with a member of your family you don't kiss on the lips unless it's your husband," Liz said, "I would be uncomfortable doing that and I think most people would be. If she feels it's appropriate, so be it. I wouldn't say it sets a particularly good example."

However, Victoria has since been defended by moms who share photos of themselves kissing their kids.

The fact that people are criticizing @victoriabeckham for posting a picture of her kissing her daughter on the lips says more about THEM than it does about her. There is nothing creepy or inappropriate about it and if YOU (the critics) are sexualizing it than you're the issue. I'll give my little man a smooch as long as he'll let me. I find it deeply upsetting that people are now being abused for publicly showing their child love and affection. I will never ever stop showering my child with affection, they are a precious gift and one that should be treasured every day.
