John Carpenter is not a fan of "The Walking Dead". The legendary filmmaker who is known for his works on cult classics like "Assault on Precinct 13" (1976), "The Fog" (1980) and "The Thing" (1982) recently shared his thought on the hit zombie-themed TV series.
"That ['The Walking Dead'] was a movie that George Romero made back in 1968 ['Night of the Living Dead'], and they have milked that," he said during an appearance on Marc Maron's WTF Podcast, "and they are still milking it."
The 68-year-old filmmaker who says he loves horror since he was a kid went on saying that horror as a whole is due for "a new beginning; a resurgence." He explained, "Horror movies have been with us since the beginning of cinema, and it's always the same. Most of them are bad; a few are average; and a couple are really good."
"They keep changing with the culture," he continued. "It's like with Vietnam. You saw the violence change. Horror movies change, too. So they'll change again."
