AceShowbiz - Miss District of Columbia Deshauna Barber has just been crowned Miss USA 2016. The 26-year-old won over Miss Georgia Emanii Jovan Davis and Miss Hawaii Chelsea Hardin at the conclusion of the annual beauty pageant which was broadcast live on FOX on Sunday, June 5 from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Barber, a lieutenant in the U.S. Army, successfully answered a question about women in the military during Q&A round for the Final Five. "As a woman in the United States Army," she said she's powerful and dedicated and that gender didn't limit her.

As for the Final Three round, all finalists answered the same question separately. They were asked to "define confidently beautiful." Miss Georgia answered, "Knowing who you are. Your flaws makes you beautiful." Miss Hawaii said, "Someone who is beautiful...serves and cares for others."

Miss D.C. Answered, "It's not always about your parents, about who you are around. It's about earning respect no matter what you look like. I'm a woman in the U.S. Army. I'm strong, small and powerful - I'm confidently beautiful."

Barber received the crown from Miss USA 2015 Olivia Jordan. Miss Georgia was the second runner-up, while Miss Hawaii was the first runner-up.

Julianne Hough and Terrence J hosted the event, while Backstreet Boys performed at the pageant show.
