Nick Jonas is only a week away from releasing his new album, "Last Year Was Complicated". To keep the anticipation high, the singer dropped on Friday, June 3 a new cut called "Bacon" featuring Ty Dolla $ign.
On it, Jonas talks about his life after a breakup, saying it's so good because he gets to do whatever he wants to do and avoid drama. "The one thing I love more than being with you/ That's late nights, doing what I wanna do/ I got sleep eyes, I woke up like this/ Feel like... aw s**t, throw some bacon on it," he tells his ex in the chorus.
Jonas first debuted "Bacon" while he was playing a pop up show in New York City back in April. Prior to that, he explained the real meaning behind the track's intriguing title in an interview with the U.K.'s Capital FM. "So many people have asked me what that song is about. A lot of guesses were: It's the morning after and it's bacon because you're having breakfast," he said. "That's not at all what it's about."
"The idea is when you are out of a relationship and you start to be okay with the fact that it's ended," he continued. "In my case my life was great, it's so good that we should throw some bacon on it to make it even better."
His new album, "Last Year Was Complicated", is coming out on June 10. In addition to Ty Dolla, the project boasts guest appearances from Tove Lo, Big Sean and even NBA star Allen Iverson.
