Prince's ex Anna Fantastic reveals in a new interview that the late musician and Madge 'didn't seem like really good friends' though they once recorded a song together.

AceShowbiz - Prince himself is probably not happy to have Madonna pay tribute to him at the 2016 BBMAs. Weighing in on criticism surrounding the performance, the late music icon's ex-girlfriend Anna Fantastic hinted that he's actually not a big fan of Madge though they once worked together on a song.
Fantastic revealed in a recent interview with TMZ that Prince refused to make a music video for his and Madonna's collaboration, "Love Song". She said that the Purple One liked the track but hated the idea of appearing with the 57-year-old diva in its video.
"You know, I was there when they recorded their duet together ... and she really wanted to do a music video and he refused. I heard the phone conversation," she said. "I think he liked the song, but he didn't want to do the video. I even said, 'You and Madonna in a video could be really cool.' And he said, 'Me and Madonna in a video? No thanks.' "
Fantastic claimed that Madge tried so hard to have Prince in the video. She even mentioned her divorce from Sean Penn to get his sympathy. "Well, she also said, 'You know, I'm going through a lot right now with my divorce with Sean,' " the British actress recalled. "And he said, 'What does your divorce with Sean have to do with me or this song?' He said, 'I'm not doing the video with you.' They didn't seem like really good friends."
In the interview, Fantastic also revealed what she herself thought of Madonna's tribute at the 2016 BBMAs. "Well... I don't want to sound like Simon Cowell, but [Madonna's] had loads of iconic performances. But [the BBMAs] unfortunately was not one of them," she shared.
At the Sunday night, May 22 event, Madonna covered "Nothing Compares 2 U" before bringing out Stevie Wonder for "Purple Rain". In response to fans who trashed her performance, she said on Instagram, "Deal with It! Anyone who wants to do a tribute to Prince is welcome to. Whatever your age Gender or skin Color. If you loved him and he inspired you then show it!!!! I love Prince 4 ever."
