There's seemingly trouble in paradise. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were on the brink of divorce as their marriage crumbled, according to OK! Magazine.
The magazine claimed that the "Bridge of Spies" actor and the 59-year-old songstress were "heading their separate ways." Problems in their marriage were reportedly due to Hank's busy schedule. An insider told the site, "It's so sad, but the stresses on their marriage have just been too much lately."
The source went on claiming that the couple's son Chet was another reason of their conflicts. The source alleged that Hanks and Wilson had different opinion about how to handle their son, who dealt with substance abuse issue in the past.
It was also said that Hanks used his works as a distraction from his turbulent marriage. "Tom's friends don't think his heart is in his marriage anymore," the source continued. "And they suspect he's using work as an escape. That he and Rita could fall apart after all this time is tragic."
However, all of those rumors about Hank and Wilson's marriage turn out to be wrong. Gossip Cop is told by a rep for Hanks that the story is simply "untrue."
