First Man Born on Mars Finds Love on Earth in First 'Space Between Us' Trailer
Movie

After spending 16 years in Mars, Asa Butterfield's Gardner Elliott visits Earth for the first time to find the girl he's been talking to online.

Asa Butterfield takes an intergalactic trip to see the girl of his dreams in the first trailer for "The Space Between Us". As the first human born and raised on Mars, his character Gardner Elliot travels to Earth for the first time at the age of 16 to meet a girl named Tulsa whom he's been talking to online.

In the trailer, Gardner does find the girl he's in love with and gets mesmerized by a lot of things she's so used to, like hot air balloons, horses and rain. "Tell me where you're really from," Tulsa asks him, to which he responds, "Mars." He continues, "Just because something sounds crazy doesn't mean it's not true."

However, because he was born on another planet, Gardner can't handle Earth's gravity. While he's out there experiencing all earthly things, Gary Oldman and Carla Gugino's characters lead the race to find him.

Directed by Peter Chelsom from a script by Allan Loeb, "The Space Between Us" is set to hit U.S. theaters on August 19. Britt Robertson stars as Tulsa. She will join Gardner to uncover information about his astronaut mother, who died during childbirth, and the mysterious circumstances surrounding how he came into existence.
