Ameen, who played Capheus in the first season of the Wachowski siblings' Netflix drama series, will be replaced by Toby Onwumere in season 2.

AceShowbiz - "Sense8" is undergoing a casting shake-up ahead of its second season. Aml Ameen, who played Capheus in the first season of the Wachowski siblings' Netflix drama series, has abruptly left the show, forcing the show's bosses to recast the role.

The show fortunately has found his replacement in recent UC San Diego MFA acting graduate Toby Onwumere. He will take over the role of Capheus "Van Damme", a young Kenyan man living in Nairobi who is striving to earn money for his AIDS-stricken mother's medication. He is one of the key characters on the sci-fi series.

According to Deadline, Ameen's exit was prompted by a conflict between the actor and co-creator/executive producer/director Lana Wachowski. The friction that was reportedly caused by creative differences began during the season 2 table read in Berlin and worsened during the filming in India. Several episodes had been filmed before Ameen's exit. It's unknown if Capheus' scenes in the upcoming season will be re-shot.

Jamie Clayton who stars as Nomi Marks on "Sense8" seems to have no problem at all with Ameen's departure. Asked by a fan during a Twitter Q&A if he's sad about his co-star's exit, he straightforwardly answered, "NOPE," adding, "I'M STOKED!!!"
