Just two weeks into the show's season 22, Mark Ballas was forced to skip a performance on "Dancing with the Stars" Monday night, March 28. The pro dancer who is partnered with UFC fighter Paige VanZant had to sit out the show this week after injuring his back during rehearsal on Sunday.

In footage from their rehearsal, Mark was seen lying on the dance floor in pain after throwing his partner through his legs. "I just slipped a disc," he said in the video. "My back pinched funny. I'm hurting. Oh yeah, I'm in trouble."

He appeared on the show to give update on his condition. "Just to be safe, we're going to do everything smoothed out, but I'm hopeful I'll be back," he said, adding that he had an MRI and would go in for a bone and CT scan on Tuesday.

Paige danced with troupe member Alan Bersten on Monday night. She did better than last week, scoring 24 out of 30 for their routine.

Before the season kicked off, "America's Next Top Model" winner Nyle DiMarco got four stitches after his pro dancer partner Peta Murgatroyd accidentally struck him in the face during training. Fortunately, he was able to perform during the season premiere.
