After the incident, in which the fan in question got too close to him without him knowing, Bieber will only have group meetings with his fans and won't have one-on-one interaction with them.

AceShowbiz - Justin Bieber left numerous fans heartbroken when he said on Tuesday, March 22 that he'd canceled all future meet and greets on his "Purpose" tour. Shortly after he announced the news on Instagram, new details about the cancellation emerged via TMZ.

As previously reported, the 22-year-old superstar told fans in the Instagram post that the meet and greets always made him "so drained and unhappy." He added, "Want to make people smile and happy but not at my expense and I always leave feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted to the point of depression."

According TMZ, the Biebs' decision was triggered by an incident at his concert on Monday, March 21, where "an obsessed and potentially dangerous fan" showed up and got really close to him without him noticing. The female fan's already on the "watch list" of the singer's security, so she was immediately removed from the area after security became aware of her presence.

The site noted that fans had previously pulled Bieber's hair, ripped his clothes and even given him the flu, but he never complained. He wasn't unharmed at the Monday show, but the incident was said to be a "wake up call" for his security team.

So from now on, fans who have paid to meet the Canadian star in groups will see him jumping on a stage and talking to them with no touching or one-on-one interaction. Those who have paid between $900 to $2,000 for one-on-one meet and greets are being offered refunds.
