All the fights against the devils lead your favorite "Penny Dreadful" characters to the dark side in season 3. Showtime has released a new trailer for the next installment, showing where the show will take Vanessa (Eva Green), Ethan (Josh Hartnett) and Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton) to next.

Vanessa, locked up in a white room, seems getting possessed as she touches herself. Ethan is struggling to control himself as he's transforming into a werewolf. Sir Malcolm, meanwhile, is seen fighting against another guy who tries to kill him, and Dorian (Reeve Carney) throws a party.

Green tells E! News, "At the beginning of season three, Vanessa is not the Vanessa that we are used to. It's as if her armor has been stripped away. She's stuck in this vicious circle in which she's lost all sense of who she really is."

Patti LuPone, who guest starred last season as the Cut-Wife, returns as a series regular in the new role of Dr. Seward, an American therapist who treats Vanessa with an unconventional new approach. The third season will also introduce Kaetenay (Wes Studi), an intense, enigmatic Native American with a deep connection to Ethan who becomes an ally to Sir Malcolm, and Dr. Henry Jekyll (Shazad Latif).

Other guest stars include Christian Camargo as Dr. Alexander Sweet, a zoologist who strikes up an unlikely friendship with Vanessa; Sam Barnett as Dr. Seward's mysterious young secretary; Jessica Barden as Justine, a young acolyte to Lily (Billie Piper) and Dorian Gray; and Perdita Weeks as Catriona Hartdegan, a scholar with expert knowledge of the supernatural.

Simon Russell Beale returns as Dr. Ferdinand Lyle, Rory Kinnear stars as The Creature and Harry Treadaway portrays Dr. Frankenstein.

"Penny Dreadful" season 3 premieres Sunday, May 1 at 10 P.M. ET/PT.
