'The Flash' to Bring Back a Deceased Character. How Is That Possible?
TV

In a new episode titled 'Flash Back', Rick Cosnett will return and reprise his role as Eddie Thawne.

Nothing is impossible on "The Flash". The show is going to bring back Eddie Thawne, who was killed off in the season 1 finale, in episode 17 of season 2. Former series regular Rick Cosnett will reprise his role as Detective Joe West's (Jesse L. Martin) partner and Iris' (Candice Patton) love interest who sacrificed himself in the first season in order to wipe his distant descendant Eobard Thawne/Reverse Flash (Tom Cavanagh) from history.

Since Eddie died in the first season, his return in the upcoming episode will involve a flashback. According to the synopsis, "after the shocking revelation that Zoom is Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears), Barry (Grant Gustin) is more determined than ever to get back to Earth-2 to stop Zoom forever."

"Desperate to find a way to increase his speed, Barry decides to travel back in time and masquerade as his earlier self in order to get his arch-nemesis, Dr. Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne, to teach him how to run faster. However, things don't go as planned and Barry is stunned to face familiar foe Hartley Rathaway (guest star Andy Mientus), as well as old friend Eddie Thawne. Iris makes peace with her past in order to embrace her future."

Aptly titled "Flash Back", the episode will air March 29.

"The Flash" will return with a new episode Tuesday, March 22 at 8/7c on The CW.
