There's still a glimpse of hope that Melissa McCarthy will return for "Gilmore Girls" revival. While the actress said she had not been invited back for the Netflix series yet, she recently met up with her former "Gilmore Girls" co-star Yanic Truesdale.
Truesdale took to Instagram on Saturday, March 5 to share a picture of their reunion. Truesdale himself has signed up to reprise his role as Michel Gerard, an employee at the Independence Inn. So, did he meet McCarthy to talk about her potential return to the revival?
Not so fast, folks! Truesdale wrote in the caption of the image, "Scotch, great meal and catching up with my old friend @melissamccarthy, can't ask for more! Dont read anything into it guys."
McCarthy played Lorelai's loyal friend Sookie St. James on the original series. The actress who has been super busy since starring in 2011's comedy "Bridesmaids" tweeted in February, "Thanks for the invite, but sadly no one asked me or Sookie to come back to Stars Hollow. Wish them all the best!!"
Meanwhile, Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Keiko Agena, Liza Weil, Danny Strong, Milo Ventimiglia, Jared Padalecki, Matt Czuchry, David Sutcliffe, Michael Winters, Sally Struthers, Liz Torres, Sean Gunn, Vanessa Marano, Jackson Douglas and Emily Kuroda are all confirmed to return. Sutton Foster is cast as a new character.
Filming for the four-episode continuation is currently underway. No premiere date is set just yet.
