AceShowbiz - After teasing it with some previews, Lana Del Rey has finally dropped the official music video for "Freak" in full. As promised, the 11-minute visuals features appearances from Father John Misty and the girls from her "Music to Watch Boys to".
The first five minutes of the video, mostly filmed in slow-motion, centers on Del Rey and Father John Misty as they walk under the sun and dance amidst the thick white smoke. The rest of the video, meanwhile, mainly shows several girls in all-white dancing under the water and stripping down to their underwear as Claude Debussy's "Clair de Lune" replaces Del Rey's song.
"Freak" is the latest single lifted off Del Rey's newest album, last year's "Honeymoon". Its music video was debuted on Tuesday night, February 9 during a Vevo event held at The Wiltern in Los Angeles.
Her decision to feature Father John Misty in the clip may sound random, but she's been a fan of him for years. "I don't listen to that much new music, but I actually really love Father John Misty, who kind of reminded me of my roots," she said in a 2013 interview with Radio.com.
"I'm [Father John Misty's] number one fan. His songs really bring me back to why I started writing in the first place. None of the fancy stuff, it's just the story in each one of his songs," she shared in a separate interview with The Current last year. "I feel like he has all of his insecurities and all of his hopes flow so seamlessly throughout each song. And his voice is amazing. I've seen him live a few times."
